Welcome to Deaf Ed!

I am starting my 6th year with WISD. I started out as a Certified Interpreter and recently became a Teacher of the Deaf in 2024. I will earn my Master’s Degree with Texas Woman’s University in Education of the Deaf in December of 2025. Before this, I was a Community Interpreter for 6 years. I am excited for this new journey with Hall Middle School.

Partnering with Families for Student Success

I believe learning begins at home. My goal is to work in partnership with families to support each student and meet their unique needs. In middle school, we emphasize independence—so my students will understand their goals, why those goals matter, and how they are progressing. They will also be expected to share this information with you at home.

To keep you connected, students will bring home homework, a bi-weekly parent discussion form (details available through ParentSquare), and graded work with feedback. When families are involved in a child’s education, the impact on progress is tremendous. I will reach out with observations, concerns, and achievements so you can advocate for your child’s needs and services. My promise is to keep you informed every step of the way.

Throughout the year, we will welcome Deaf guest speakers who share their experiences, challenges, successes, and self-advocacy strategies. All parents/guardians are invited to attend. If you cannot be present, I will send a summary of the discussion so you can support your child in developing self-advocacy skills at home.

Please don’t underestimate the influence you have on your child. Children learn values, priorities, work ethic, and self-worth from the adults in their lives. By working together, we can meet your child’s individual needs and help them grow into confident, capable learners.

If you have questions, concerns, comments, or observations, please reach out—your voice is an important part of your child’s success.
