Mr. Shaver's 8th Grade Math Class

Welcome to Mr. Shaver's 8th Grade Math Class at Hall Middle School. I am excited to build new , and build on previously established, relationships with the students coming through our doors! I am driven by a growth mindset and will always try to help every student achieve the most growth possible, no matter where they start in my class. I believe that mistakes are the best way to learn and will consistently encourage our students to take risks, ask questions, and make mistakes in order to learn. My priority is to help every child feel safe and loved in my room, then teach the content.

 

A little about me... I was born and raised here in Weatherford. I have been married to my beautiful wife since 2008 and we have three wonderfully awesome kiddos who all attend Weatherford ISD schools. We also have two cats (Siamese sisters) and one dog (Husky). I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2010 with my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and have teaching certificates that include 4-8 Math/Science, EC-6 Generalist, & English as a Second Language. The only time I spent away from Weatherford was right after college when I moved to Breckenridge, TX to start my career. Four short years later I returned to Weatherford and have focused on the community here since. In addition to teaching, I play guitar and sing at church most Sundays, play video & board games, enjoy gardening & camping, and love hanging out with my family in any body of water we can find.
