Welcome!
Bienvenidos to the 2025-2026 school year!
My name is Nohemi Gonzalez, I am a native Spanish speaker, and I was born in Durango Mexico. I studied at Baptist University of the Americas in San Antonio, Texas and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Theological Studies with Minor in Religious Education. I am married to my wonderful, kindhearted husband for 18 years. I have two beautiful, handsome children whose ages are 17 and 11.
This is my third-year teaching 8th grade Spanish 1 and my first-year teaching Employability Skills at Shirley Hall Middle School, and I am thrilled to receive my new students! We will have so much fun in Spanish class learning and exploring about Spanish countries, their culture, food, costumes, etc. In the Employability Skill class, students will be equipped with the abilities and qualities needed to succeed in their future workplaces/careers.
One of my favorite verses is "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord" and I apply this verse very much in my everyday life specially with my Spanish students.
