Valentine’s Dance

Valentine’s Dance,  Friday, February 9 from 6pm to 8pm in the A Gym.  Cost is $5 per ticket.  There will be a photo booth where you can purchase photos for $1.00.  Also, a concession stand will be available where everything will be $1.00 including pizza.  Come dance the night away.  Sponsored by HMS Cheer

1.Tickets on sale at lunch for $5.00 each. Buying your ticket before Friday Night at the door, includes you in a drawing for prizes.
2. Dress code applies.
3. A ticket without the buyers name written on it will not be accepted at the door.
4. Tennis shoes only will be allowed in the gym. If you aren’t planning on wearing or bringing tennis shoes; Be prepared to remove your shoes to dance on the gym floor. While we want to have a fun and safe dance; we do not want to damage the wood floor with street shoes. We will have a place for shoe storage.
5. ALL students must have a ride waiting for them at 8pm.

Rising 9th Grade Endorsement Signing Night

ATTENTION 8th GRADE Students!!!!!

Next week, on Thursday, Feb. 8th, there will be an Endorsement Signing Night of your Graduation Plan at the 9th Grade Center Campus from 6:15 – 8:15 PM.

Students and parents will be able to sign endorsement document, get a FREE t-shirt, meet with teachers from different endorsement areas, etc.

Additional sessions:

6:15 PM in NGC auditorium – Collegiate Academy with RJ Rodrigue
7:00 PM in NGC auditorium – PreAP/AP meeting with Dr. Funk or Andy Smith


The next morning at Hall, all students who attended the signing night will have a group picture taken in their t-shirt!!!

Rising Freshman - Class of 2022

During the next few weeks, 8th grade students will begin completing their 4-year graduation plan and selecting courses for next year. To help with the selection, WHS is hosting a Roo Expo on Monday, January 22 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. This is an opportunity for students and parents to get information about the various programs offered at WHS including Career & Technology, fine arts, foreign language, core classes, athletics, clubs, etc. Breakout sessions will be available for dual credit courses including a 6:30 session about the Early College Academy that is available for upcoming freshmen. A review of the Foundation graduation plan and endorsements will be available in the Durant auditorium. Students who are wanting to take Pre-AP and/or AP courses next year will be required to attend a mandatory parent meeting that reviews the expectations for enrollment. Three sessions will be available at the expo at 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30 in the library. If you have any questions, please contact the Counseling Center at 817-598-2858
