Weatherford ISD and the Tarrant Area Food Bank Team Up to Provide Food for the Weatherford Community

Weatherford ISD, the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation’s Hope Squad are hosting a drive-thru food distribution event on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

This Food Distribution Happening strives to meet the needs of families and bring awareness to the link between food insecurity, mental health, and even suicidal thoughts among children. Research shows that children who come from a food insecure household experience symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression at an increased rate that is approximately 30% higher.

Each family will receive nutritious food ranging from fresh produce, protein, dairy products, as well as non-perishable items, focused on kids and family consumption.
Boxes of food items will be provided to families on a first-come, first-served basis.

The drive-thru Food Distribution happening is a low/no touch drive-thru community-wide event created to provide needed food to families at no cost to them. Food boxes will be distributed on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Kangaroo Stadium parking lot located at 250 Eureka Street.
